We have two cars with automatic seatbelts. An 89 Maxima and an 88 Subaru XT. We haven't had any problems with them, exept for the fact that we get so used to them that we forget to buckle the lap belts sometimes. I'm customizing the XT right now and the auto seatbelts are causing me problems. I want to remove the sunroof and make it a targa top, but I can't do that unless I completely redo the seatbelts. Oh well! I guess I'll just have to order those 5 point racing harnesses. What a shame.lol The seatbelts in the Z's are actually referred to as passive seatbelts because you can supposedly get in and out of the car without unbuckling the seatbelts. I've heard rumors that it can be done, but I've never witnessed it first hand. I put mine on the old fashion way.
